Toledo (2-0) registered a 3-1 (30-17, 28-30, 30-13, 30-25) victory over DePaul (1-1) to remain undefeated in the Eastern Illinois' Pepsi/Super 8 Invitational.
Senior Heidi Neumeister paced the Rockets' attack for a second straight match by equalling her career high with 25 kills and posting a .477 attack percentage. Senior Jessica Buck also was in double figures in kills with 13 along with a .296 ATK%.
"We were able to dominate from the service line and with aggressive attacking in the first and third games," Head Coach Kent Miller said. "We've been able to slow down our first two opponents with our good serving and transition play. It was a good win for us over a Conference USA school."
The Rockets registered 17 services aces in the match, equalling the fifth most in school history. Neumeister and senior setter Kacy Stevens led the way with four aces apiece.
Senior Becky Radomski notched a match-high 16 digs to lead the way for UT defensively.
After the two teams split the first two games of the match, the Rockets dominated in Game 3 by posting a .394 ATK% and limiting the Blue Demons to a -.029 ATK%. In Game 4, Toledo never trailed and closed out the match with a 10-6 run after DePaul had climbed within 20-19.
The Rockets will wrap up action in the tournament later today with a 5:00 p.m. match vs. Chattanooga.
