Final Stats

MUNCIE, IN - Toledo (12-32-1, 1-17 MAC) dropped both ends of its doubleheader this afternoon at Ball State (19-19, 10-6 MAC).

In the opener, the Rockets let a 5-1 lead entering the sixth inning slip away as the Cardinals registered a 6-5 come-from-behind victory.

A two-run single from BSU's Ali Orel cut UT's lead to 5-3 after six innings. Janice Campbell's one-out RBI triple brought the Cardinals within a run in the seventh and Campbell scored the tying run following a Rocket error. Another fielding error and a passed ball put runners on second and third and Ruth Hjelmeland delivered the game-winning hit with a single to right field.

Toledo plated three runs in the second on senior RF Kalika Stavroulakis' two-run double and freshman SS Jennifer Mielke's RBI single.

After the Cardinals tallied a run in the bottom of the second, the Rockets answered with two more runs in the third on freshman Jessica Horn's two-run double to take its 5-1 advantage.

In game two, Ball State scored one run in the third and three more in the fifth before the Rockets scored their only run in the sixth on junior LF Jenny Schaaf's RBI single.

The two teams will wrap up their three-game series on Monday with a single game scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
