Toledo (10-18, 2-14 MAC) saw its 15-match losing streak extended tonight in a 3-0 (30-24, 30-23, 34-32) setback to MAC East Division co-leader Ohio (23-7, 13-3 MAC) at Savage Hall.
Senior Bitsy Mayhle paced the Rocket attack for a second straight night with a 18 kills and a .316 attack percentage, while senior Natalie Mash added a 13 kills and a .345 attack percentage. Mayhle, who shared the team lead with 10 digs with seniors Becky Radomski and Kacy Stevens, moved into a tie with L.G. Bass (1984-87) for fifth place on the Rockets' all-time dig list with 1,156.
The Bobcats opened the match on a blistering pace offensively committing just one attack error in the first game en route to a .528 team attack percentage. Ohio posted a hitting mark above .300 in each game on its way to hitting .383 for the match.
Toledo rallied in the third game and had a chance to send it to a fourth game when it took 30-29 and 31-30 leads. However, the Bobcats came up with the key points to close out the match.
The Rockets will conclude their season next weekend with a home match on Friday, Nov. 22 vs. Northern Illinois and a road contest on Saturday, Nov. 23 at Ball State. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
