MT. PLEASANT, MI -
Toledo (10-7, 2-4 MAC) lost its fourth consecutive match tonight with a 3-1 (35-33, 30-18, 18-30, 30-25) defeat at Central Michigan (6-12, 2-3 MAC).
Senior Jessica Buck paced the Rockets' attack with a match-high 19 kills and a .400 attack percentage. Toledo also received double-digit kill performances from seniors Natalie Mash (14 kills, .290 ATK%), Heidi Neumeister (13 kills, .250 ATK%) and Becky Radomski (10 kills, .261 ATK%). Junior setter Carrie McCaw directed UT's offense with a match-high 53 assists.
"Tonight's match was a tough one for us to lose," UT Head Coach Kent Miller said. "We lost a hard-fought Game Four after playing well in the first and third games."
The Rockets did have senior Bitsy Mayhle (five kills) back in action after she missed the first match of her high school and collegiate career after suffering an ankle injury in practice earlier this week.
"It was good to have Bitsy return to play tonight," Miller said. "She was able to see some action and Rachel Mohler, Chelsey Poquette and Mollie Murphy all performed well when she was out of the match."
Toledo will be off the remainder of the weekend and returns to action on Friday, Oct. 18 when it travels to Buffalo, NY to battle Buffalo.
