Toledo, OH - The University of Toledo volleyball team (4-7, 1-1 MAC) was edged out by Ohio University (10-4, 3-3 MAC) in the 2000 home opener at Savage Hall on Friday, Sept. 29.

"This is probably the toughest loss of the year," said Head Coach Kent Miller. "Ohio is a team that you won't drill 3-0, and we got down 2-0. We need to start much quicker."

Ohio jumped out to a 2-0 lead with 15-6, 15-10 victories. The Rockets battled back to take Games 3 and 4 by 15-5, 15-5 scores. Game 3 saw the UT offense record 20 kills and only one error. They would remain hot in Game 4, posting 17 kills to five errors. Ohio would bounce back to take the match with a 16-14 victory in the fifth and deciding game.

Sophomore outside hitter Becky Radomski (Tustin, CA) led the Rocket offense with 17 kills, while junior Theresa Estes (Temperance, MI) and sophomore Bitsy Mayhle (Houghton, NY) recorded 20 digs apiece to lead the defense.

The Rockets continue MAC play tomorrow, Sept. 30, with a home match against the Akron Zips at 3:00 p.m.
