Toledo (7-16, 4-10 MAC) suffered a 3-0 (15-7, 15-5, 15-7) setback tonight to Ball State (21-4, 14-1 MAC) at Worthen Arena.
Sophomore Bitsy Mayhle led the Rockets' offensive attack with 13 kills, while redshirt freshman Carrie McCaw (nine digs) and sophomore Jessica Buck (five blocks) paced the Rockets' defensively.
"I'm certainly frustrated with the loss tonight, but I thought we hung in there against what is clearly the class team of our conference," UT Head Coach Kent Miller said. "We played a good defensive match and picked up our play throughout to slow them down a little. I saw many signs of improvement from Friday's loss at Bowling Green, and we'll look to carry that over into our matches this week."
The Rockets will return to action again on Tuesday, Nov. 7 with a non-conference matchup at Cleveland State before returning home for a pair of conference matches next weekend against Western Michigan (Friday, Nov. 10) and Northern Illinois (Saturday, Nov. 11).
