Toledo (5-9, 2-3 MAC) suffered a 3-0 (15-6, 15-7, 15-3) setback to Northern Illinois (13-4, 4-2 MAC) tonight at Evans Field House. The Rockets played the match without starting sophomore outside hitter Becky Radomski, who sprained her knee in warmups prior to the match.
Sophomore outside hitter Heidi Neumeister led the Rocket offense with 12 kills and a .219 attack percentage. UT struggled defensive as the Huskies registered a .434 attack percentage on 52 kills and only nine errors in 99 attack attempts.
"We battled hard in the first two games of the match, but things fell apart in the third game" Toledo Head Coach Kent Miller said. "It hurt us that Becky (Radomski) was injured in warmups, but we should be able respond when we need to if one of our leaders can't play."
The Rockets will return to action again on Wednesday, Oct. 11 when they travel to Ypsilanti, MI to face Eastern Michigan.
