Box Score

YPSILANTI, MI - Toledo (5-10, 2-4 MAC) suffered its second straight setback in a 3-0 (15-12, 15-4, 15-8) loss at Eastern Michigan (4-13, 3-3 MAC) tonight.

Sophomore Bitsy Mayhle recorded a match-high 16 kills and a .297 attack percentage to lead the Rocket offense. Junior Theresa Estes led the Rockets' defensively with 16 digs, while Mayhle and sophomore Carrie McCaw each notched 14 digs.

Toledo battled from the beginning and collected 20 of its 40 kills in the match's first game. The Rockets and Eagles were tied 12-12 in Game One before EMU registered the final three points of the game.

"We came out strong and played well in the first game," UT Head Coach Kent Miller said. "But then we really struggled in the second game and didn't play with enough confidence. However, we rebounded a little and played better in the third game and we'll look to carry that over into the weekend."

UT was playing for the second straight match without starting outside hitter Becky Radomski, who is out for the season after suffering a knee injury at Northern Illinois on Oct. 6.

The Rockets will return to action again on Friday, Oct. 13 when they host Miami University at Savage Hall at 7:00 p.m.
