Adam Barta has been the head athletic trainer for football at the University of Toledo since 2017 after joining the program in 2016 as an assistant trainer.
Before coming to Toledo, Barta spent the 2014 and 2015 seasons as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the University of Arkansas football program.
A native of Tomah, Wis., Barta began his career as an athletic training student at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse from 2007-12 and worked as an athletic training intern for the Seattle Seahawks in the summers of 2010 and 2011. He continued his work with the Seahawks as a seasonal athletic training intern from 2012-14. Barta earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2012 and his master’s degree in sports management from Arkansas in 2016.
Barta is a member of the College Athletic Trainers Society and the National Athletic Trainers Association.
Barta and his wife Kristy have a daughter, Aubrey, and a son, Myles.
