Rockets tally 10th-straight win over the Falcons on Sunday
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Sophomore Annika Munson clinched match point as the Toledo women's tennis team posted a 5-2 win over Bowling Green on Sunday in the Battle of I-75 presented by Fremont Federal Credit Union.
This victory marks the 10th-straight win over the Falcons, a stretch that dates back to the 2021 dual season. The Rockets (11-8, 6-2 MAC) concluded the regular season with three-straight Mid-American Conference wins and will be the No. 3 seed in the 2026 MAC Championship next weekend in Oxford, Ohio.
Munson fired off a straight-set win on the No. 5 court to clinch match point, 7-5, 7-6 (7-2). Anastasia Akuginova tallied a 6-1, 6-1 win on the No. 4 court while JJ Scholten earned a three-set, 5-7, 6-3, 6-1 win on the No. 1 court. Gaby Rondon secured a 7-5, 7-6 win on the No. 6 court to round out the Rockets' singles courts wins.
Toledo won the doubles point behind a 6-3 win on the No. 1 court from Iva Jankovic and Neha Guru, and a 7-5 victory from Rondon and Akuginova on the No. 2 court.
