Rockets drop first conference matchup of the season
YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Toledo women's tennis team fell to Mid-American Conference foe Eastern Michigan, 6-1, in Ypsilanti, Mich. on Sunday afternoon.
The Rockets' (7-7, 2-1 MAC) lone point came off of a straight-set victory from Annika Munson on the No. 6 singles court. Munson picked up her second-consecutive singles win and moves to 8-4 overall during her sophomore campaign. Isabella Barretto and Neha Guru forced third sets on the No. 2 and No. 4 singles courts, respectively, but the Eagles were able to pick up wins on five out of six courts.
Barretto and Guru combined for a 6-3 win on the No. 1 doubles court, but Eastern Michigan picked up the doubles point by earning wins on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts.
Quoting Head Coach Tracy Mauntler
"Credit to EMU as they completely outplayed us today. We were definitely not up to the standard of our program for this match today. The loss will burn and that will be the motivation to help us not make those same mistakes in the future."

Toledo will host Western Michigan on Friday, March 27 at either Twos Athletic Club (indoors) or the UT Varsity Tennis Courts (outdoors) depending on the weather. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m.
