Rockets pick up their first MAC win of the season on Thursday
CHICAGO, Ill. – The Toledo men's tennis team rolled to its first Mid-American Conference win of the season with a 6-1 victory over UIC in Chicago, Ill. on Thursday afternoon.
The Rockets fired off wins on five out of six singles courts as well as won the doubles point to earn the match win.
Junior Poonthong Komolpisut clinched the match win with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 win on the No. 2 court. Hanamichi Carvajal posted a three-set win on the No. 1 singles court while Lucas Britez earned a 4-6, 7-5, 12-10 victory on the No. 4 court.
Matias Olivero cruised to a straight-set win on the No. 3 court as freshman Pannawat Suttisomboon tallied a 7-5, 6-1 win on the No. 6 court.
Carvajal and Komolpisut combined for a 6-2 win on the No. 2 doubles court while the duo of Britez and Suttisomboon tallied a 6-3 win on the No. 3 court to secure the point for the Rockets.
