Why Toledo?
I chose the University of Toledo because it offers the perfect balance between academics and athletics. As a student-athlete, I wanted to be part of a competitive tennis program where I can grow both on and off the court and Toledo gives me that opportunity. One of the biggest reasons I chose Toledo is the coaching staff. From the beginning, Coach Al Wermer made me feel welcome, supported, and motivated. The way the coach communicates and connects with players really stood out to me. They’re not just focused on results, they care about helping us become better athletes, better students, and better people. I’ve seen how the coach pushes the team to reach its potential while still supporting everyone individually, and that’s the kind of environment I want to be in. I also really respect how the coach has built a winning culture and helped the program succeed in the MAC. I’m excited to learn, compete, and represent Toledo under someone who knows how to lead and truly believes in their players.
