Toledo senior posts singles wins over Notre Dame and Ohio State to reach Round of 16

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Toledo senior Poonthong Komolpisut led the Toledo men's tennis team at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Reigonal Tournament in Columbus, Ohio this past weekend.

Komolpisut went 3-2 overall on the weekend and reached the Round of 16 in the singles main draw. The senior began play with a 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 win over Evan Lee from Notre Dame in the opening round before tallying a straight-set 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) win over Ohio State's Ilija Palavestra in the Round of 32. Komolpisut fell to Jeremy Zhang from Illinois, 6-3, 6-1, in the Round of 16.

In the qualifying singles round, Charlie Snow recorded a straight set win over Cleveland State's Connor Thornton and UIC's Henrique Sa. David Perret tallied a 6-4, 4-6, 10-5 win over Chad Miller from Northwestern.
