Poonthong Komolpisut and Cole Cozens post straight-set singles wins on Saturday
BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Toledo men's tennis team fell in a closely contested battle with Mid-American Conference foe Buffalo, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon in Buffalo, N.Y.
Poonthong Komolpisut and Cole Cozens tallied singles victories on the No. 2 and 5 courts, respectively. Komolpisut posted a straight set win on the No. 2 court while Cozens fired off a 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 win on the No. 5 court. The match came down to a hard-fought contest on the No. 1 singles court as Hanamichi Carvajal dropped a three-set match 6-4, 2-6, 5-7.
Toledo also earned the doubles point after Komolpisut and Carvajal tallied a 7-6 (7-1) win on the No. 2 court as Alejandro Gonzalez and Joshua Mackey combined with a 6-4 win on the No. 3 court.
Buffalo earned four singles wins on the No. 1, 3, 4 and 6 courts.
