Junior Poonthong Komolpisut forces third-set tiebreaker on No. 1 singles court
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Toledo men's tennis team fell to Purdue 7-0 in the 2026 dual season opener on Friday night in West Lafayette, Ind.
After a competitive set of doubles matches, Purdue picked up the doubles point with a 7-5 win on the No. 1 court and a 7-6 (4) win on the No. 2 court. The UT freshmen duo of AJ Sidoti and Pannawat Suttisomboon made their collegiate debuts, battling to a 6-5 lead in their match before it went unfinished.
The Boilermakers continued their strong evening by grabbing wins on the No. 2, 6 and 4 courts to clinch their fourth point and the match victory. Junior Poonthong Komolpisut forced a tiebreaker on the No. 1 court after earning a 6-4 win in the second set before falling 10-8 in the tiebreaker. Purdue then closed out the match with wins on the No. 3 and 5 courts.
