TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo senior quarterback Tucker Gleason was named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week after his Week 5 performance against Akron, the league office announced on Monday.

Gleason commanded the backfield all afternoon in Toledo's 45-3 win over the Zips. He completed 16-of-19 passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns, adding another score on the ground. The 84.2% completion percentage was the highest of Gleason's career.

He completed 15-of-16 passes in the first half alone, and had all four of his total touchdowns in the first 30 minutes, lifting the Rockets to a 35-3 lead by halftime. He was pulled in the second half after the game was out of reach.

Gleason also reached 5,000 career passing yards in Saturday's blowout win.

The Tampa, Fla. native was the second Rocket to receive the league's Offensive Player of the Week honor this year. Running back Chip Trayanum also earned the award in Week 2. Monday was the fourth times Gleason has earned a MAC weekly honor, also doing so twice in 2024 and once in 2022.

The Rockets (3-2, 1-1 MAC) are off this week, but will return to the gridiron on Saturday, Oct. 11 in the Battle of I-75 at Bowling Green.
