ROCHESTER, Mich. – Three Rockets finished in the Top 15 on Sunday to lift the Toledo men's golf team to a second-place finish at Oakland's Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate this weekend. The Rockets shot a team score of 16-over par 868 at the par-71, 7,204-yard Katke Cousins Golf Course and finished 11 shots behind Butler in the tournament.

Sophomore Bence Bertenyi and senior Bence Kotel each carded even-par 71s to lead Toledo in today's final round. Bertenyi tied for 10^th place at three-over par 216, while Kotel tied for 12^th place at four-over par 217.

Junior Solomon Petrie posted the Rockets' best individual showing by tying for eighth place with a two-over par 215.

"I really enjoyed competing in this tournament on a solid golf course," Head Coach Jeff Roope said. "Our guys are talented and have the ability to win golf tournaments. It just comes down to the old adage of playing consistently over multiple days that's going do it for us."

Freshman Rasmus Gross competed as an individual and tied for 14^th place at five-over par 218. His one-under par 70 in the second round was his best of his young collegiate career.
 
Toledo returns action next week when it travels to Madison, Wis. for the Badger Fall Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 22-23.
