Rockets in Fifth Place After Two Rounds at Flyer Invitational

KETTERING, Ohio – Senior Bence Kotel is alone in seventh place following Monday's opening two rounds of Dayton's Flyer Invitational. Kotel's play has helped the Rockets to a fifth-place team standing at the par-71, 7,048-yard NCR South Course.

Kotel registered an eagle and two birdies en route to a two-under par 69 this afternoon. He has shot par or better in nine of 16 rounds this fall.

Junior Solomon Petrie joined Kotel with an even-par 71 in the opening round and is tied for 21st place at four-over par 146. Senior Mads Jensen posted the Rockets' second-best score in the afternoon with a two-over par 73.

Butler leads the 12-team field at three-over par, four strokes ahead of Illinois State and host Dayton. The Bulldogs' Derek Tabor leads all individuals at nine-under par.

The third and final round will begin with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start tomorrow.
