Toledo will face Eastern Michigan or Kent State in an elimination game
Â
The Rockets (29-28) scored twice and pulled within 3-2 in the fourth inning, but seven two-out Miami runs across the fifth and sixth innings proved to be the difference. The RedHawks (33-21) pulled away to a 10-4 advantage by the end of the sixth by scoring all of their runs in those two innings via RBI singles.
Â
Toledo moves into the elimination bracket and will await the result of the Ball State-Kent State game to determine its next opponent and game time. Should Kent State win, Toledo will face Eastern Michigan tonight at 6:00 p.m. Should Ball State win, Toledo will play at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow against either Eastern Michigan or Kent State.

Quoting Head Coach Rob Reinstetle
"The scoreboard isn't indicative of what that game really was. Miami scored all of their last seven runs with two outs. It was 3-2 in the fifth and anyone's game, but we just couldn't get off the field. Miami is a good team and when we left the door cracked, they ran right through it. Our job just got harder, but if there is a team that is built to claw through an elimination bracket, it's us."
