BUFFALO, N.Y. – Senior pitcher
Sophia Knight gave up just two hits and struck out a career-high 10 batters to lead the Toledo softball team to a 3-1 win over Buffalo on Sunday afternoon.
Knight went the distance, throwing her seventh complete game of the season and allowing only one run on two hits. Buffalo's only run came on a solo homer in the fourth, which cut Toledo's lead to 3-1. The next Bulls' batter singled but Knight held Buffalo hitless the rest of the way.
Toledo's (14-26, 7-12 MAC) offense was paced by home runs from
Jenna Bloomfield, who blasted a solo shot in the third, and
Audrey Miller, who smashed a two-run shot in the fourth. Miller, a freshman, leads the team in homers with nine.
