Toledo Begins Five-Game Homestand with Michigan on Tuesday

Return matchup at Fifth Third Field against Wolverines highlights five home games in next seven days
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo baseball team begins a five-game homestand with a matchup against Michigan on Tuesday, April 15 at Fifth Third Field in downtown Toledo. First pitch against the Wolverines will be at 6:30 p.m. The Rockets will then play Western Michigan at Scott Park for a Mid-American Conference weekend series on April 17-19, with the games set for 3:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Toledo will then play Oakland on Monday, April 21, with first pitch set for 3:00 p.m.

Toledo (13-21, 7-11 MAC) captured its second MAC series against Eastern Michigan after taking 2-of-3 games on the road this past weekend. On Friday, Jacob Tabor earned the win with 4.1 innings, with just one run allowed, five hits and three. Brady Sasse pitched 5.0 innings on Sunday, giving up only two runs on five hits to secure his first career win. Leading the Rockets' offense last week was Troy Sudbrook, who went 7-for-16, scoring four runs, with three RBIs, a home run, and two stolen bases. Tre Mariano hit 5-for-12 with a .533 on-base percentage in the EMU series, delivering four RBIs.
The Rockets also had a 9-4 win against Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday. Yianni Skeriotis picked up his first win of the season with 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing only four hits en route to picking up his first win of the year.
