Rockets look to ride momentum from series win vs. Ohio into this week
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo baseball team will hit the road for the first four games of a five-game road trip, taking on Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday, March 25 and Kent State for a Mid-American Conference weekend series on March 28-30. First pitch against the Mastodons will be at 3:00 p.m., with the Kent State games beginning at 3:00 on Friday and Saturday and 1:00 on Sunday.

Toledo (8-14, 4-5 MAC) dropped a road game at Wright State on Tuesday, but earned its first series win of the MAC schedule against Ohio this weekend. The Rockets responded to a loss on Friday with a 7-3 victory on Saturday and a 1-0 rubber-match victory on Sunday. Freshman Braden Curry picked up his first career win against Ohio on Saturday, pitching 3.1 scoreless innings with five strikeouts, only allowing two hits. Jackson Bergman, in his longest outing of the season, pitched 5.1 scoreless innings with four strikeouts, allowing only two hits on Sunday. Logan Jones picked up his third and fourth saves over the weekend, including a four-out save on Saturday. Freshman Cam Gravelle hit 5-for-15 in his four games of the season last week, notching his first career double and home run along with three RBIs and three runs.

Purdue Fort Wayne (3-19, 2-4 Horizon), lost to Bowling Green before winning the series against Youngstown State over the weekend. Toledo last faced Purdue Fort Wayne on April 24, 2024, with Purdue Fort Wayne winning 4-3 in 13 innings.

Kent State (10-11, 4-2 MAC) won 2-of-3 games against Bowling Green last weekend. The Rockets and Golden Flashes last met in the MAC Tournament on May 23, 2024, with Toledo winning 8-2 in an elimination game.
