MIAMI, Fla. – The Toledo softball team dropped a pair of games to Eastern Illinois and Florida International on Saturday at the FIU Classic in Miami, Fla.
In the opener vs. EIU, the Panthers broke a 1-1 tie with a run in the third and then added seven more runs in the next three innings to win by run-rule 9-1 in six innings.Â
Samantha Bolding went 3-for-3 for the Rockets.

Against FIU, Toledo held a 3-1 lead going into the bottom of the fifth but the Panthers scored three runs to take a 4-3 lead. After, Toledo answered with three runs in the top of the sixth, sparked by a pinch-hit two-run home run by sophomore
Jenna Bloomfield. But FIU scored six runs in its half of the inning to take a 10-6 lead that ended up being the final score. The Rockets banged out 12 hits in the contest, with four players recording multi-hit games.Â
