Bolding recorded a .571 batting average with four home runs in four games
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo sophomore center fielder Samantha Bolding was named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Bolding led the Toledo offense as the squad earned a 5-3 win over Michigan State and picked up a series win against Ball State, the third-straight series victory in league play.
The sophomore tallied a .571 batting average after going 8-for-14 at the plate, blasting four home runs and knocking in 10 runs. She recorded a slugging percentage of 1.571 throughout the week as she scored a team-best seven runs throughout four contests.
Bolding went a perfect 3-for-3 against the Spartans, hitting a home run and plating two runs. In the series opener against Ball State, the Greenfield, Ind. native chipped in two RBIs before firing off three round-trippers and six RBIs during the doubleheader against the Cardinals on Saturday.
Bolding leads the league in slugging percentage (1.138), OPS (1.607) and home runs (6) throughout MAC play.
Toledo returns to action with a three-game series at Akron this Friday-Saturday, April 3-4.
