Samantha Bolding cracks three homers as Rockets gain a split vs. Cardinals
Toledo rolled to an 8-6 win in game one thanks to a pair of two-run homers by Bolding in the first and second innings. Bolding, who also homered in game two, now has 10 home runs this season, a league-high mark, and 23 career round-trippers, tied for third in Toledo history with Kaitlyn Bergman (2014-19). She now has two multi-home run games this season and five in her career. Bolding recorded a career-high five RBIs in game one and crossed home three times.
Eli Enriquez added in a multi-hit outing in the first game and scored two runs. Sophomore Payton Pudlowski chipped in her first collegiate homer, blasting a two-run shot to center field in the bottom of the fourth to round out a four-run inning to help UT earn the win.
Junior Mady Yackee (3-6) picked up the victory in relief, tossing 6.0 innings and allowing just three runs and striking out a season-best four batters.
The Rockets fell 6-2 in game two. Payton Abiley led the offense with two hits and an RBI while Bolding blasted a solo homer. Freshman Lexi Johnson (1-3) picked up the loss, throwing 2.1 innings and giving five runs on six hits.Â
