Payton Abiley tallies sixth multi-hit outing of the season
AKRON, Ohio – The Toledo softball team fell in the series opener against Mid-American Conference foe Akron, 9-1 in five innings in Akron, Ohio on Friday afternoon.
Eliza Maloney knocked in the Rockets' lone run with an RBI single in the third inning while Payton Abiley went 2-for2, turning in her second-straight multi-hit game and sixth of the season.
Katie McDonald (6-5) took the loss, tossing 3.1 innings while Mady Yackee and Olivia Signorino appeared in relief.

Toledo will wrap up the series against Akron tomorrow in a doubleheader. Action begins at 10:30 a.m. with streaming on Zips All-Access.
