MIAMI, Fla. – The Toledo softball team lost a pair of 2-1 decisions to Saint Francis and Bradley in the first games of the FIU Classic in Miami, Fla. on Friday.
The loss to Bradley went into extra innings, with the Braves tying the game in the bottom of the seventh, then scoring the winning run on a two-out hit in the eighth. Senior pitcher
Sophia Knight had a one-hitter going into the seventh inning before Bradley rallied. Second baseman
Sidney Griffith's RBI single in the fifth inning accounted for Toledo's only run.
In the day's first game, sophomore
Maggie Roh scored the lone Toledo (5-5) run against Saint Francis, crossing home plate on a Red Flash error in the fifth inning to cut the lead in half, 2-1. Kylie Graham took the loss, surrendering five hits and one earned run.
