JOLIET, Ill. – The Toledo women's tennis team recorded a 5-2 victory over the defending Division III National Champions UChicago on Saturday afternoon in Joliet, Ill. Freshman Jacklynka Scholten clinched match point for the Rockets with a three-set victory, coming back to win the second and third sets after dropping the first.

The Rockets (6-2) earned the point in doubles play after grabbing wins on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts. Neha Guru and Jacklynka Scholten picked up the win on the No. 1 court, 6-4, and Gaby Rondon and Annika Munson clinched the doubles point on the No. 2 court, 6-4.

Audrey Moutama got the Rockets started in singles play by winning in straight sets on the No. 1 court to put Toledo ahead, 2-0. Guru fell to UChicago's Sarena Biria on the No. 4 court, but Rodon picked up the straight-set 6-1, 7-5 victory on the No. 3 court to make the match score 3-1.

On the No. 2 court, Scholten grabbed a three-set victory over UChicago's Geller 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 to clinch match point for Toledo at 4-1. Jone Ibanez picked up a straight-set victory over UChicago's Zou on the No. 5 court, while Munson dropped a straight-set decision on the No. 6 court to round out the match.

"We did a great job today competing against a very experienced team that wins a lot. Grabbing the doubles point again today shows me the hard work we are putting in during practice is paying off. We had an incredibly strong showing at the top of our lineup in singles today as well. I'm also proud of Jone (Ibanez) who beat a very tough competitor."

Toledo will head to Florida to take on USF on Friday, Mar. 7 at 12:00 p.m. and Hillsborough C.C. on Saturday, Mar. 8.
