Rockets to Face Ball State on Monday on CBS Sports Network

Toledo is 4-2 and tied for second in the MAC entering Monday's game

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball team will head to the Hoosier State to take on Ball State on Monday, Jan. 20 at 11:00 a.m. Monday's contest will air nationally on CBS Sports Network with radio broadcasts on WCWA 1230 AM and The Varsity Network app.
 
Toledo (12-4, 4-2 MAC) enters the game in a four-way tie for second place in the MAC, while Ball State (14-4, 6-0 MAC) is alone in first, two games ahead of the pack.
 
The Rockets defeated Ohio 80-65 at Savage Arena on Saturday. Khera Goss lit up the scoresheet with 23 points, 15 of them coming on a 5-of-6 effort from downtown. Kendall Carruthers added 16 points of her own, going 6-of-6 at the free throw line. The Rockets shot 12-of-24 (50.0%) from three-point range, the first time above the 50-percent mark since Jan. 14, 2023.
 
The Cardinals enter Monday's game winners of eight-straight games. BSU knocked off Akron, 80-57 at home on Saturday, behind 18 points from Madelyn Bischoff. Five players scored in double figures for the Cardinals in the weekend victory. Ball State is 8-1 at Worthen Arena this season.
 
Toledo leads the all-time series 62-31 and is 26-18 all-time in Muncie. The two sides split a pair of contests last season, with the home team winning both games.

Khera Goss Has Career Day Against Ohio
  • Khera Goss marked two career highs in Saturday's win against the Bobcats, with 23 points and five made three-pointers.
  • Goss finished 6-of-7 from the field, 5-of-6 from three and 6-of-6 from the free throw line.
  • She was instrumental in a 19-3 Toledo run in the second quarter, which put UT up double-digits after the Rockets trailed early in the quarter.
  • The Indianapolis native also tied her season high with six made free throws.
  • Goss is now averaging 11.9 points per game, 16th in the league, and is fifth in the MAC at 41.1% from beyond the arc.
Rockets on National TV
  • Toledo will play its second nationally televised game this season, having also appeared on the Big Ten Network in the Nov. 13 matchup at Iowa.
  • Toledo will play its seventh game in front of a national TV audience in the past three seasons.
  • Previously, national audiences have seen the Rockets' MAC Tournament Championship (vs. Bowling Green) and NCAA Tournament First Round (vs. Iowa State) victories in 2023 along with the Rockets' statement win over Michigan last season.
  • The Rockets also played their road game at Ball State on CBS Sports Network last season.
Toledo on the Road
  • Toledo holds a 3-2 record in true road games this season, including 2-1 in conference play. The Rockets are 5-3 away from Savage Arena in road and neutral contests.
  • Toledo's defense has clamped down recently, allowing just 57.2 points across its last five road and neutral contests.
  • Four of Toledo's five victories away from home have come by single digits.

  • Toledo holds a +7.1 rebound margin this season, 38th in the country. Toledo was +10 in rebounds in both games last week.
