Junior fires career-best five-under par 66 to lead Rockets
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Junior CJ van Wyk fired a career-best five-under par 66 in Tuesday's final round to lead the Toledo men's golf team to a seventh-place showing at Virginia's Lewis Chitengwa Memorial. The tournament included six schools ranked in the nation's Top 40 and was held at the par-71, 7,116-yard Birdwood Golf Course.

Senior Jamie Tofte Nielsen also registered a Top 10 finish for the Rockets, tying for 10th place at two-under par 211 (72-68-71).
The remainder of the Rockets' lineup included senior Barend Botha (220/T-47th), sophomore Mads Jensen (226/T-66th) and senior Palmer Yenrick (232/77th).

After opening the tournament with a 12-over par 296, UT shot a two-over par 286 in the second round and a three-under par 281 today.
"We were happy to make progress each day, but we're still looking for the consistency that will allow us to challenge at the national level," Head Coach Jeff Roope said. "CJ and Jamie both played solid golf and carried us to our finish. They both have worked really hard in practices so it's no surprise that they're starting to see the fruits of their labor."
Toledo will return to action next weekend when it travels to Urbana, Ill. for the Illinois Spring Collegiate on Saturday-Sunday, April 20-21.
