Redshirt junior receives weekly honor for first time in collegiate career
TOLEDO, Ohio – Redshirt junior Mason Deal was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Golfer of the Week on Friday. It marked the third straight tournament a Rocket has earned the weekly conference honor.
A Perrysburg, Ohio native, Deal registered his best finish of the season by tying for 11th place to lead Toledo at the UNCW Seahawk Intercollegiate this week.
Deal shot a season-low even-par 216 and was consistent throughout by shooting an even-par 72, a one-under 71 and a one-over 73. He also tied for the team lead with 11 birdies.
Deal and the Rockets will return to action with a trip to Charlottesville, Va. for Virginia's Lewis Chitengwa Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, April 13-14.
