TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's soccer team will begin its homestand this week with Northwood on Thursday evening and Oakland on Sunday afternoon. The Rockets (1-2-1) are coming off their first win of the season under first-year head coach
Mark Batman and will look to bring that winning momentum back to Paul Hotmer Field.

Toledo is coming off its first shutout win of the season, a 3-0 victory over Detroit Mercy.
Madison Medalle had her second two-goal match,
Grace Turski scored her first goal of the season, and
Brielle Young made four saves in her first collegiate shutout.
Medalle was named Offensive Player of the Week and Mckenna Schultz was named co-Defensive Player of the Week by the Mid-American Conference on Thursday for their performance in Detroit.
Medalle leads the team and the conference with five goals this season, while Young leads all league keepers with a 6.67 saves per game average and second in the conference with 20 saves.
Scouting the Competition
Northwood (0-1-1) is coming off its first loss of the year, falling 3-1 to Ferris State on Sunday. Juliana Paoletti and Carly Boyd have the Timberwolves' two goals this season, while goalkeeper Lindsay Jacobs has made six stops with a .600 save percentage.
Oakland (1-3-2) was shut out 6-0 by Ohio State before drawing 2-2 at Illinois State last weekend. The Golden Grizzlies are led by Macey Wierenga who has a goal, an assist, and is 1-for-1 in PK attempts, and keeper Julia Zangerl has 10 saves with a 0.625 save percentage.
Thursday will be the first matchup between the Rockets and Timberwolves. The Rockets trail 9-5 all-time vs. the Golden Grizzlies.
