TOLEDO, Ohio – Junior Cassie Alcala was named this week's Mid-American Conference Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week, the league announced on Thursday.

Toledo picked up two wins last weekend, extending its winning streak to four matches and improve to 11-3, 3-0 MAC. Alcala clinched both match points from the No. 1 singles court to improve her individual winning streak to four matches. Alcala trailed in the beginning of both of her sets vs. NIU's Erika Dimitriev but came back to win each set by a 6-2 decision, her first two-set victory since Feb. 10. Alcala then went to hand Ball State's Mariya Polishchuck her first loss of the season en route to taking down the defending MAC Champions.
 
Alcala has won her last nine conference matches dating back to last April.
 
This is Alcala second weekly conference honor this season, having been recognized on Jan. 19, and eighth of her career (five singles and three doubles team).
 
The Rockets will play at Buffalo on Friday afternoon before hosting Blowing Green in its annual Battle of I-75presented by Cooper Tired on Sunday afternoon.
