TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's tennis team found themselves back on track Friday following a 7-0 sweep over Duquesne and a 5-2 victory over Chicago State in a pair of matches at Shadow Valley Tennis Club. The wins improve the Rockets to 7-3 overall and 5-0 on their home court.
Junior
Pawit Sornlaksup won both his matches from the No. 1 court to record his 29th and 30th consecutive singles victories.Â

Toledo started off the day vs. Duquesne with a 6-3 doubles victory. Sornlaksup and
Krzysztof Wetoszka won on the No. 1 court, and
Vlad Meluta and
Marko Galic clinched the point with a 6-4 decision from the No. 2 court.

Toledo was flawless in singles play vs. the Dukes, sweeping all six singles matches. Sornlaksup tallied the first singles win from the top court, followed Wetoszka at No. 3. Galic clinched the match for the Rockets with a win at the No. 2 court.

Luis Kleinschnitz, and Meluta added to the score with wins from courts No. 4, 5, and 6, respectively.   Â

The Rockets continued their success by tallying their second win of the day with a 5-2 win vs. Chicago State.Â

Toledo kicked things off in its second match by winning the doubles point thanks to victories from Meluta and Galic on the No. 2 court and Olivero and Kleinschnitz at the No. 3 court. Sornlaksup and Wetoszka were a set away from clinching the top court, ahead 5-3, when the match was ruled unfinished.

Wetoszka and Meluta quickly put the Rockets up 3-0 following two-set victories at the No. 3 and 6 courts, respectively. Kleinschnitz clinched the match for the Rockets at the No. 5 court following a two-set victory. The Cougars tallied its first point at the No. 4 court making the score 4-1. Sornlaksup won in a two-set match, giving him his 30
th straight singles win from the No. 1 court. Chicago State was able to score its second point following a win at the No. 2 court.

Toledo will play one more non-conference match at Purdue next Sunday, Feb. 25 before starting conference play on March 11. First serve between the Rockets and Boilermakers will take place at noon.
