OXFORD, Ohio – Sophomore
Kaema Amachree's goal gave the Toledo women's soccer team a 1-0 halftime lead, but Miami responded with two goals in the second half to push past the Rockets, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon at Bobby Kramig Field.
Amachree provided the Rockets a 1-0 advantage when she took a pass from senior
Grace Turski and scored on the Rockets' first shot of the afternoon at the 15:22 mark. UT took that 1-0 lead into halftime.
Miami responded with a goal in the 51
st minute to tie the game at 1-1 and netted the game-winner with two minutes to play. The Rockets tried to rally but couldn't get a shot off for the remainder of the contest.
The defeat leaves the Rockets tied for fifth place in the conference standings with Northern Illinois (6-6-3, 4-3-1 MAC). The top six teams in the conference qualify for the MAC Tournament that begins on Sunday, Oct. 29.
