Toledo Puts Up Tough Defense in 1-0 Loss to Buffalo

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's soccer team put up a tough defense against Mid-American Conference leader Buffalo Thursday night but the Rockets could not get one on the board, falling 1-0 to the Bulls at Paul Hotmer Field. Buffalo got on the board in the 26th-minute and took the one-goal lead into halftime. Toledo took multiple tough shots and had close chances for the equalizer in the second half, but could not follow through.   Goal and Key Moments

  • 26'| GOAL Buffalo's Payton Robertson and Katie Krohn set up Jasmine Guerber for the go-ahead goal.
  • 31'| Stephanie Currie crossed the ball to Mia Leonetti, but Buffalo's goalkeeper Emily Kelly made a big save to keep the Rockets off the board.
  • 58'| Olivia Dault shot one from the right side, but a mad scramble in front of the net prevented any other Rocket from converting on the rebound.
  • 83'| Buffalo took a corner kick and Tess Ford tried to head the ball, but Toledo goalkeeper Karson Hill made a jumping save to send the ball over the crossbar.
