TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team defeated Northern Illinois 6-1 at Twos Athletic Club on Friday in its first home match of Mid-American Conference play. The Rockets move to 12-3, 2-0 MAC, and marked their 11th-straight win at home dating back to April 2, 2021.

Toledo took a 1-0 match lead after winning the doubles point thanks to victories on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts. Sophomores Cassie Alcala and Julia Kuszynski had little trouble on the No. 1 court, and the No. 3 team of Sloane Teske and Christina Fuller clinched the point with a 6-3 decision.

UT continued to dominate in singles play, winning five singles courts in two-set fashions. Shalini Tallamraju clinched the win for the Toledo with a two-set sweep on the No. 2 court. The Huskies' only win came on the No. 6 court in a 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(7) decision.

Alcala and Kuszynski each won their fifth straight single's match, while Teske and Patricia Panta have won their last two singles matches. All four Rockets are undefeated in MAC play.

Toledo will go back on the road this weekend, visiting fellow MAC co-favorite Ball State this Sunday in Muncie, Ind. for a 4:00 p.m. first serve.
