Toledo put up a tough fight to win the doubles point with close victories on the No. 1 court by
Marko Galic and
Pawit Sornlaksup and the No. 3 court by
Luka Jankovic and
Adam Kovac.
The Rockets carried over the same mentality into singles play, picking up a win on every court. Senior
Cole Shoults split the first two sets with Jan Jauch on the No. 4 court and back to win the match 6-4, 3-6, 9-7.
"It was a nice team win tonight," head coach
Al Wermer said. "This helps prove what these guys are capable of. They fought hard in doubles. We got on them early in singles, but also finished with a killer instinct."
Toledo will stay in Milwaukee to take on Missouri Valley member Illinois State on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the Helfear Tennis & Recreation Center.
