Toledo Opens MAC Play at Ohio

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's volleyball team opens Mid-American Conference play this weekend, heading to Athens for a pair of matches against the Ohio Bobcats.
Friday's match is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN3, while Saturday's contest will begin at 2:00 p.m. and is available on ESPN+.
Last Time Out
Toledo went 2-1 last week to close out its non-conference slate, winning matches against Purdue Fort Wayne and Marshall.
In the win over the Mastodons, sophomore Taylor Alt led all players with 15 kills, including six in the final set. Junior Ryann Jaqua added 14 digs, while freshman Elaine Redman and sophomore Payton Morman recorded 19 and 16 assists, respectively. Junior Olivia Vance tallied seven kills while hitting .545 and added four blocks.
The Rockets rallied to win the final three sets against Marshall after dropping the first. Alt registered a match-high 17 kills, while junior Sina Uluave added 12 kills and 22 digs, her third double-double of the year. Jaqua collected 22 digs as well, while Redman (27 assists, 13 digs) and Morman (26 assists) both saw time at setter and played well.
