ROCHESTER, Mich. -Â Freshman Olivia Dault scored just two minutes into the game and it was all Toledo needed in a 1-0 win at Oakland on Thursday. The victory keeps the Rockets (3-0-2) unbeaten after five games, the longest string to start the season without a loss in school history.
It was the second consecutive game-winner for Dault, and her third straight game with a goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Emma Boutorwick made two saves to earn her third shutout of the season.Â
"We knew it was going to be a battle tonight," said Head Coach T.J. Buchholz. "Oakland is a really good team and they are very hard to beat at home. Our defense again was very strong tonight. I thought our backline really did a great job not letting Oakland get good looks in front of our goal. On the offensive side, we didn't capitalize enough in front of Oakland's goal. I thought the chances were there, but Oakland did a good job of closing any openings we had. We were able to find an opening early in the match by
Mia Leonetti chasing down a loose ball and getting the keeper out of the goal. The ball got played back to
Olivia Dault and she put a great shot into the open net for the lone goal of the game."Â
