TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's tennis team (12-7, 8-3 MAC) won its sixth straight match on Sunday, outlasting the Miami RedHawks 4-3 at the UT Varsity Tennis Courts.
"Miami has a lot of talent," head coach
Tracy Mauntler said. "My goal for our players today was to play for each other and to play with their hearts. My players make each other better. They care about each other and they dig one more ball out because of each other. I couldn't be prouder of this squad."
Miami won the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead in the match. Sophomore
Laura Morera and senior
Patricia Panta won on the No. 2 court to keep the Rockets alive, but the RedHawks were able to win on the top court to take the point.
Toledo was able to win the first two singles matches to take the lead. Freshman
