Toledo Splits Pair on Opening Day of The Spring Games

LEESBURG, Fla. – Toledo split a pair of contests on Friday in its opening day of competition at The Spring Games in Leesburg, Fla. The Rockets (4-3) opened the day with a 6-3 victory over Stetson this morning before falling by a 10-2 margin to Middle Tennessee this afternoon.

Senior Erin Hunt improved to 3-1 by scattering five hits and allowing just one unearned run against the Hatters in her fourth complete game this season. Junior catcher Aubrey Reed paced the Rockets' offense with a homer, double and three RBIs. Sophomore 1B Riley Mohr also drove in a pair of runs with two singles.

Toledo trailed 2-1 after three innings against Middle Tennessee before seeing the Blue Raiders plate single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth frames and five more in the seventh.

Junior 2B Bri Robeson and junior C Macey Moore led the Rocket attack against MTSU with three and two hits, respectively.

Toledo is back in action again tomorrow when its faces North Dakota at 10:00 a.m. and South Dakota at 12:30 p.m.  The Rockets will conclude their weekend on Sunday vs. New Mexico State (10:00 a.m.) and Florida Gulf Coast (12:30 p.m.).
