
Toledo to Play at Youngstown State on Friday

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo men's tennis team visits Youngstown State on Friday, Feb. 19 for a 5:00 p.m. match.
"This will be a challenging and enjoyable test for us," head coach Al Wermer said. "It will be exciting to go into their new building in our first road trip of the year, and just see how we handle the situation."
Last Time Out
Toledo hosted Northwestern Ohio last Friday and defeated the Racers, 7-0.
Junior Cole Shoults and freshman Krzysztof Wetoszka teamed up to win on the No. 1 doubles court, while sophomores Luis Kleinschnitz and Max Skaer came out on top on court No. 3.
Toledo won all six singles matches as well. Shoults defeating his UNOH counterpart Sergio Conde on the top court (6-4, 6-3), senior Thawin Suksathaporn won on the No. 2 court (6-4, 6-3) and Wetoszka cruised to a victory on the No. 3 court (6-0, 6-0). A pair of freshmen also won in singles play with Adam Kovac (6-3, 6-4) defeating his opponent on court No. 4 and Wojciech Szczesny (6-2, 6-0) claiming a win on the No. 6 court. Kleinschnitz joined Shoults and Wetoszka as a two-time winner on Friday with his 6-4, 7-5 win on the No. 5 court.
About Youngstown State
Youngstown State is 0-4 this year, having faced Northern Illinois, North Dakota, Dayton, and Marquette. Vasilis Vardakis has played well on the top singles court, where he owns a record of 3-1. Laurentiu Mandocescu holds a ledger of 2-2 playing on the No. 2 singles court and Erik Gran is 2-1 on the No. 3 court.

The Rockets host three matches next weekend.They'll face Cleveland State on Friday, Feb. 26 at 1:00 p.m., Tiffin on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., and Xavier on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. All three matches are set to take place at Shadow Valley Tennis Club.
