TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's basketball team (7-3) concludes the non-conference portion of its schedule when it hosts Marshall University (7-5) on Tuesday, Dec. 21. Tip-off time in Savage Arena is set for 7:00 p.m. with streaming on ESPN+.
     In the Rockets' last game before final exams, junior
Setric Millner Jr. scored a game-high 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a heartbreaking 72-69 setback at Richmond on Dec. 11. Juniors
JT Shumate and
RayJ Dennis also scored in double figures with 18 and 13 points, respectively. Shumate grabbed seven rebounds, while Dennis collected six boards and five assists.
     Toledo held a 41-36 advantage on the boards but was hampered by 11 second-half turnovers that allowed Richmond to rally from a 19-point deficit.
     Sophomore
Ryan Rollins leads the Rockets with a MAC-best 19.3 ppg. He has five 20-point plus outings, including a career-high 35 against Coastal Carolina (Nov. 24).
     Joining Rollins in double digits are juniors
JT Shumate (15.0),
Setric Millner Jr. (14.7), and
RayJ Dennis (11.3). Shumate (7.3 rpg) and Millner (6.4 rpg) are pacing the Rockets in rebounding, while Dennis is dishing out a team-high 4.0 apg.
     Toledo is outrebounding its opposition by 6.9 rpg this season, a figure that ranks 49th in the nation.
     Marshall has dropped its last two contests at Ohio (75-65) and at home to Northern Iowa (75-60). Junior Taevion Kinsey leads the Thundering Herd with 19.8 ppg, while sophomore Andrew Taylor is averaging 12.9 ppg, 6.2 rpg and a team-high 5.6 apg.

Ryan Rollins has scored in double digits in 34 of 40 career games and ranks second in the MAC with 1.9 spg.
Rollins is averaging 2.8 spg in his last five contests.

JT Shumate ranks in the MAC's Top 15 in six categories. He is third with a 57.6 FG%, fifth with a 45.7 three-point FG%, sixth with 4.9 defensive rpg and 7.1 rpg, seventh with 2.4 offensive rpg, and 12th with 14.7 ppg.

RayJ Dennis scored a career-high 21 points and grabbed nine boards vs. Charlotte (Nov. 22). He is third in the MAC with a team-high 4.0 apg and eighth with 4.8 defensive rpg.

A LOOK AT THE ROCKETS
   Toledo captured its ninth Mid-American Conference title in program history and registered its fifth 20-win season in the last eight years in the 2020-21 campaign.
  The Rockets have produced a strong run of success in recent years and possess a 93-46 (.669) win-loss mark since the start of the 2017-18 season.

HOME SWEET HOME
   The Rockets were 12-1 at home last season and their .923 winning percentage was their best since going 15-0 in the 2013-14 season. UT's only defeat in Savage Arena last year was an 88-81 loss to Bowling Green (Feb. 13).
   Toledo is 39-9 (.813) at home since the start of the 2018-19 campaign.
