Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo women's tennis team will host Oakland on Saturday, March 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Twos Athletic Club. This will be the Rockets' last non-conference match before opening MAC play against Northern Illinois in DeKalb, Ill. on March 22.
The Rockets are coming back from their spring break trip to Boca Raton, Fla. seeking a win after facing some tough competition down south. In the span of a week, Toledo had four outdoor matches against Florida Atlantic, Charlotte, UT Arlington, and Lynn.
Toledo fell to Florida Atlantic and UT Arlington 4-1 each, earning their sole point in both matches with wins on the doubles court from junior Dee Dee Leenabanchong/senior Kokoro Chishaki and senior Thalita Rodrigues/freshman Kiersten Carlson. Toledo fell 4-0 to Charlotte. To round off their spring break competition, the Rockets clashed against Division II opponent No. 2 Lynn, falling 6-1. Despite Carlson/Rodrigues' win on the No. 2 court, it wasn't enough for the Rockets to take the doubles point. Senior Claire Aleck put Toledo on the board with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Anastacia Parkin at the No. 6 singles spot.
