Rockets Head to Western Michigan for Thursday Night Matchup

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's soccer team travels to Kalamazoo, Mich. for a Thursday evening matchup with Western Michigan. The match is set for Thursday, Oct. 24 at 4:00 p.m.

"Western Michigan is a very good team and will be a good challenge for us on the road," said head coach TJ Buchholz. "We have to build on our success last weekend and prepare well for tough conference games this week."

Following Thursday's match, the Rockets will travel to DeKalb, Ill. for a 2:00 p.m. (CT) matchup against Northern Illinois on Sunday, Oct. 27.

  • The Rockets are looking for their third-straight conference win this Thursday.
  • Toledo is coming off of a 2-0 weekend, claiming wins over Ball State and Miami.
  • Sophomore Anita Mancini earned MAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week this week after scoring both game-winners this weekend. Both goals were scored in the final 20 minutes of each game.
  • Redshirt freshman Adrianna Brewer earned MAC Defensive Player of the Week this week after earning two shutouts this weekend. Brewer made seven saves this weekend - including two saves that arguably saved each game from going into overtime.
  • Sophomore Ashton Cassel and junior Alex Troy assisted Mancini's game winner against Miami.
  • The Rockets' 1-0 shutout of Ball State snapped the Cardinals' five-game win streak and was the first time they had been held scoreless in the Glass City since 2011.
  • Toledo's 1-0 shutout of Miami was the first time the Rockets had shut out the RedHawks at home since 2008.
  • Junior Sophia Lewis is one assist away from tying for fifth-most career assists in program history.
  • Western Michigan is coming off of a 2-1 loss to Buffalo in New York.
  • Western Michigan is 6-8-1 this season, earning four conference wins.
