Rockets Welcome Ball State and Miami for Weekend Matchups

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's soccer team welcomes Ball State and Miami to Paul Hotmer Field on Friday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m., respectively. Sunday's match will be the program's annual "Bark in the Park" event where dogs will be able to attend the game for free and can participate in a costume contest at halftime.

"We are looking forward to playing two very good teams this weekend at home," said head coach TJ Buchholz. " We continue to make positive strides in practice on both sides of the ball. We need to continue to make big plays on offense and defense to help us be successful this weekend."

Following Sunday's match, the Rockets will travel to Western Michigan on Thursday, Oct. 24 for a 4 p.m. matchup with the Broncos.

  • Ball State holds the advantage over Toledo in the all-time series, 11-8-2, claiming a 2-0 win last season.
  • Toledo holds the all-time series advantage over Miami, 13-10-1, claiming eight wins in the Glass City.
  • The Rockets are looking for their second conference win of the season Friday night.
  • Junior Sophia Lewis added three assists to her stat line against EMU. The playmaker now has 14 career assists and is one away from tying for the fifth most in program history. Lewis' three assists is also tied for a school record in assists in a single game.
  • Freshman Stephanie Currie leads the Rockets with six goals this season. 
  • Freshman Brooke Stonehouse recorded one goal and two assists against Eastern Michigan. Stonehouse is now tied for second in program history in assists in a game.
  • Redshirt freshman Adrianna Brewer earned her fifth career start for the Rockets Sunday afternoon.
  • Sophomore Anita Mancini recorded her second season goal in the 43rd minute against Eastern Michigan. Mancini also recorded her third career assist in the 77th minute against EMU.
  • Sophomore Ashton Cassel recorded her second career game-winner in the 46th minute against Eastern Michigan.
  • Ball State is coming off a 2-1 double overtime victory over Western Michigan Sunday afternoon.
  • Miami is coming off a 1-1 double overtime tie with Northern Illinois Sunday afternoon. The Redhawks will play Bowling Green on Friday before coming to Toledo.
