TOLEDO, Ohio -Â The Toledo women's soccer team travels to Mount Pleasant, Mich. for a 1:00 p.m. matchup against Central Michigan on Sunday, Oct. 13.
"Central Michigan has had a great season so far and they are a talented team," said head coach
TJ Buchholz, "We have to build on the success and energy we had Thursday and carry that into the game on Sunday."
Following Sunday's match, the Rockets will welcome Ball State and Miami to Paul Hotmer Field next weekend.
OPENING XI
- The Rockets are 7-9-7 against the Chippewas, their most ties against a MAC opponent in program history. Toledo's last matchup against Central Michigan ended in a 2-0 victory in the Glass City.
- The Rockets are coming off a 6-1 victory over Eastern Michigan Thursday night.
- Junior Sophia Lewis added three assists to her stat line Thursday. The crafty playmaker now has 14 career assists and is one away from tying for the fifth most in program history. Lewis' three assists is also a school record in assists in a single game.
- Freshman Stephanie Currie added her sixth career goal in the 65th minute Thursday night. She is now five goals away from etching her name in the Toledo top-five in single-season goals.
- Freshman Brooke Stonehouse recorded one goal and two assists against Eastern Michigan. Stonehouse is now tied for second in program history in assists in a game.
- Sophomore Ashton Cassel recorded her second career game-winner in the 46th minute Thursday night.Â
- Sophomore Anita Mancini recorded her second season goal in the 43rd minute of the game. Mancini also recorded her third career assist in the 77th minute against EMU.
- Seven Rockets recorded two or more shots during the 90 minutes of action against Eastern Michigan.
- Redshirt freshman Adrianna Brewer earned her fourth career start for the Rockets Thursday night.
- Central Michigan is coming off a 3-2 double overtime loss to Bowling Green on Thursday night.
- CMU is 6-2-2 overall, 3-2-0 in conference play.
