TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo heads into its second weekend of play in its 2018-19 campaign when it travels to Sugar Grove, Ill. for the Northern Intercollegiate. The 54-hole tournament will be played on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 15-16 and be hosted by Northern Illinois University. The 54-hole tournament will be played on the par-72, 7,281-yard course at Rich Harvest Farms. An 8:15 a.m. CDT shotgun start will be utilized each day.
The Rockets will be looking to build off their seventh-place finish at last weekend's Fuzzy Zoeller Invitational. Sophomore Grant Godfrey paced Toledo by tying for 18th place at even-par 216 (74-71-71) after receiving a medical redshirt last year. A trio of Rockets also made their UT lineup debuts last week with junior Rasmus Broholt Lind (T-32nd/74-77-70=221), sophomore Jack Boczar (T-34th/73-72-77=222) and Muhammed Afif Mohd Fathi (41st/74-76-74=224) each playing well for stretches. Senior Spencer Shoemaker also was right in the mix for Toledo by tying for 42nd place (75-74-76=225).
Senior Duncan McNeill will make his season debut for the Rockets this weekend. He will be joined by Boczar, Godfrey, Lind and Shoemaker in UT's lineup.
